For us, the farm is where the experience of shrimp farmers meets new knowledge. We want that learning to support the farm and open up more possibilities, from farming practice to food products.

From the first days by the ponds to a new chapter

Around 13 years of farming form the beginning of the story we want to share: from the shrimp ponds of Ban Laem, Phetchaburi, to an interest in science, tools and working with specialists.

The journey goes beyond the harvest. HEY SHRIMP shrimp extract soup is another chapter connecting the farm's experience with product development.

Knowledge grows when different experiences meet

Farmers know the details of daily life at the pond. Researchers and specialists bring another set of questions, approaches and tools. Collaboration becomes meaningful when these perspectives help us understand shrimp farming more clearly.

The farm identifies a network including KMUTT Bang Khun Thian, TISTR, NSTDA, DIPROM, KYTOS, TUF, GROBEST, the Department of Fisheries and research centres. Each collaboration has its own context; individual project stories should be read alongside the roles and dates involved.

Names are supplied by the farm. This does not mean that every organisation joins the same project, provides funding or endorses products.

A laboratory story begins with a question

When something changes in a pond, the question is not only what happened, but how we can investigate what we see. Field observations and analysis offer complementary views of the same picture.

We believe a useful science story should follow the question, sampling and analysis through to the meaning and limitations of the findings, rather than stopping at a photograph of equipment or a single number.
